“ It has been worth the wait. Their creative all-day breakfast/lunch menu is a great start. Can't wait til they get their liquor license and can expand to dinner service. The menu has a Mexican flavor but it is not the everyday Mexican food. It is Oaxacan and, definitely a different spin on Mexican. ”
“ I was fortunate enough to eat at La Mezcaleria last night with a group of friends and was amazed at the incredible food that we were served. it was a tasting so we were able to experience many of the plates that at are on their menu. I honestly can't pick a favorite because each dish was fantastic. Thanks to all of you - I will be returning! ”
“ This was a hidden gem. Mario was a fantastic host and a great guy, with a lot of knowledge of Mezcal and Mole. We started the day with shopping for the ingredients, Mario showed us little details about San Miguel de Allende. We really had fun learning and cooking. Can not wait to go back for good!!! ”
“ La Mezcaleria is one of those rare gems that feels like a secret you want to keep—but can’t help but share. The atmosphere is cozy, inviting, and effortlessly cool, tucked away like a magical hideout in the heart of San Miguel. From the moment you walk in, you feel like you're being welcomed into someone’s home—with warmth, intention, and genuine care. And the food... wow. Every bite was vibrant, fresh, and deeply satisfying. It's rare to find a place where both the drinks and the food shine equally, but La Mezcaleria nails it. The dishes are rooted in tradition but feel creative and alive—thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. It's clear the kitchen puts their heart into every plate. La Mezcaleria is more than a bar or a restaurant—it's an experience. A warm, sensory journey that stays with you long after you leave. We’re already planning our return. ”
“ This place is a hidden gem. Our server (guy) was amazing and gave us a lot of recommendations around the city. The drinks here are great, but my favorite one was the chile guero. The vibe is good if you like a quiet place. We even bought a bottle to bring back. ”
“ We love to come here and tate their mezcal options. This is the first time we have eaten here. We ordered the platter (with crickets) as an appetizer and shared the bone marrow dish. We finsihed off with avocado icecream. Everything tasted great. It was bussy and you can tell they were a but understaff. However the staff was great and tried their best to be as quick as possible. We did wait a tad but not too bad. We will continue to come back and recommend it to others. ”
“ My wife and I had dinner here and loved the food and the atmosphere. I had the pork belly mole and it was the best mole I’ve had. I also enjoyed the mezcal flight. We will definitely be back. ”
“ Not to be missed restaurant in San Miguel de Allende. Hubby, friend, and I had a great time here consuming tapas and cocktails. Friend had the lamb, I had the sirloin, and hubby had the tuna. All were cooked to perfection. I had multiple Mango Mezcal Margaritas with a spicy mixture on the glass rim. Hubby had several Bourbon Manhattans. It's a very cute place on Zacateros with 7-8 tables. Great ambiance! ”
